Happy Birthday To You!!!

Evan turned 3 on June 26th, and we had his party outside on the grounds of my husband's office this year. The weather, which had been super hot and fraught with thunder storms all week, decided to cooperate: it was sunny and in the mid 80's! Because Evan had enjoyed 'bouncy houses' at a couple of other birthday parties he'd been to recently, we decided to rent one for his party. However, when he arrived and saw it, he said "I don't like those" and refused to go in. We kept trying to persuade him but he just wouldn't have it. He acted like he was scared of it, for some reason. A few of his cousins showed up and they got right in and were having a blast, but Evan still wasn't budging. Finally, Tom just hoisted him in there and then got in behind him. Evan resisted for another 30 seconds or so, and then suddenly came flying down the slide, and that was that. He spent most of the rest of his party in there! All of the other kids seemed to really enjoy it, too. It was a great day!
