Tennis Court Football

Tom and I recently discovered that the gated tennis court across from our house is a great place to let Evan run around and play with his footballs (as long as no one is there playing tennis!) Recently, some of the neighborhood kids have been joining in on the action, and they all really seem to like our little football fanatic. One of them brought over his old Redskins helmet on Sunday to give to Evan as an '"early Birthday present."

Shopping with Mommy

Evan and I went to Target on Sunday and while I was picking out some new coloring books for him, he spied an Elmo doll and book set that he wanted immediately. He pointed to it and said "Peas? Peas?" while making the sign language gesture for "Please." How could I possibly say no to that? He didn't understand why Elmo had to stay in his box for the duration of the shopping trip, though.

Football!

Evan has become quite obsessed with all things football lately. He loves looking at Redskin and NFL logos and points them out to us for the bazillionth time whenever he finds one. He also points to the TV and says "Football?" meaning that he wants to watch the NFL Network. He loves to toss his toy footballs around and gets upset when we make him leave them in the car when we go somewhere. His teachers at daycare have even started calling him "Football" as a nickname. Hopefully this is just a phase, or at least a healthy obsession. If this keeps up, then I guess I'll know where to find him come September...in the Man Den with his Dad, watching the games!

Play Date

My friend Megan brought her son Brennan over to our house on Saturday morning and we strolled the boys down to our neighborhood playground. After they played on the slides for awhile, they enjoyed tossing footballs around, checking out the pool through the fence and peering at the "Quack Quacks" (big Canadian geese) at the lake from a safe distance. It was a fun morning!
