Thanksgiving

Evan had a great time on Thanksgiving Day. He got to visit with his grandparents at their house in Smithsburg, MD before we all headed over to Tom's sister's house in Greencastle, PA. He really enjoyed seeing everybody.

At daycare, he made the two turkeys pictured below. When his teacher asked "What are you thankful for?" he responded "I'm thankful for my family at the airport." Since we didn't have any out-of-town guests flying in for the holiday, I can only assume that he meant he was glad when a family member returned to the airport after traveling away from home. Cute answer, anyway!

The King of Chaos

Evan's idea of playing in his room is to dump all of the toys in his 3 bins out at once so there ends up being a bazillion little things all over the floor. As a self-professed neat-freak, I have had to do some major reprogramming in order to not lose my mind every time I see a scene like this (which is at least once a day!) Unfortunately, it seems that Dylan is quite content to wallow in the messiness, too, so I probably have two little slobs on my hands. Ay yi yi!!

Super Evan To The Rescue!!

Evan is still very into super-heroes these days, and his buddies at daycare are, too. I knew that his class Halloween Party would be filled with Spider Men, Iron Men, Buzz Lightyears, etc. so I decided to give Evan his own unique super-hero costume. He sometimes role plays as "Super Evan" when he's wearing one of his various hero costumes, so that's what I went with. This was my first foray into homemade costume making, but I didn't have to do all that much. I designed the logo and cut it out of felt, and just picked clothes out of his closet. He already had a black and red cape that we'd gotten at a festival over the summer, so I just sewed the logo onto that. He was very proud of his costume and enjoyed saying "Bye Bye Bad Guys!!" to all of his daycare friends.
