"All Done!"

When Evan has had enough to eat, he usually says "All done!" and then either tosses his plate or bowl onto the floor, or dumps the remaining contents on his head! You can probably guess from these pictures which route he chose to take yesterday...

Family Outing

We took Evan to the mall last Saturday with the intention of getting his hair cut for the first time. However, when we saw the line (and the $17 price tag) at Cartoon Cuts, we decided we'd let him be our 'long haired hippie baby' a little while longer. He got to ride the carousel with me and then when we were ready to leave, he walked the entire length of the mall while holding onto his dad's hand while I pushed the empty stroller. He is getting to be such a big boy!

Crazy-Haired Baby

Evan had a fever on Saturday and Sunday and his runny nose/cold turned into a hacking cough. He had to stay home from daycare on Monday and Tuesday, which meant getting to wear his jammies all day and not having to get his hair brushed! (Judging by these photos, I'm thinking it may be time for his first hair cut very soon!)

Funny Dance

Leave it to Evan to rock out to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on his mobile...

Another Round of Playpen Volleyball

18 Month Stats

Evan had his 18-Month Check-Up yesterday and he weighed in at 26 lbs and 11 oz and is now 33 inches tall. We had all the right answers for the Development Questions and the doctor was particularly impressed with his language skills and expressiveness. She thought he was quite advanced for his age and said boys have a tendency to concentrate more on their motor skills and therefore develop language skills a bit slower than girls do, but he was rapidly mastering both.

Here's a list of all the things he's said so far although I may be forgetting a few:

Da-Da (Daddy); Mama; Ba-Ba (Bottle); Ball; Uh-Oh; Wall; Bye-Bye; Airplane; Up; More (and he does the sign language for 'more' as he says it); No-No; Baby/Babies (what he calls all of his stuffed animals); Woof-Woof (imitating the dog next door); Wa-Wa (Water); Boo! and P-Boo (for Peek-a-boo); Bee-Beats (for "Fresh Beats," the name of a music show he likes); "Up above" (the only part he likes to sing to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star); Whoa, Joe! (a part of a song they sing in his daycare); What's that?; Oh boy!; Uh-oh, what is it?; Apples; Din-din (for Dinner); Night-night; Quack quack; Rrowr!; Hey/Hi; and Hat.

He is growing up SO FAST!!!!!!

The Carousel

A Happy New Year's Day

Evan and I decided to steer clear of the Post-Holiday Blahs that I normally experience on New Year's Day, and we had a great time. We hit the stores and found some really fantastic After-Christmas Sale deals. And while at the mall, we had our favorite fast food for lunch --Chick-Fil-A, rode the carousel, rode the train, and zonked out for a really nice nap. (Well, ONE of us zonked out, anyway.)

P.S. Not sure why he looks so miserable in these pictures. We really did have a fun day-- HONEST!

My Crazy Little Music Man

Evan spent New Year's Eve rocking out to my new Casio keyboard and making his parents laugh hysterically. Happy New Year, everybody!
