Fun at the Farm
Last Sunday, we took the boys to a big farm nearby that has a lot of play areas for kids. Tom's company had held an event there last Fall and he took Evan then, but Dylan and I had never been. Evan really enjoyed going back there and remembered all the things he liked to play on the best and wanted to re-visit them all right away. He really enjoyed the castle, the bouncy dome, and the big black tube slides, but we all liked the corn crib the best because it was nice and shady in there. It was such a hot day but the boys had a blast!

Mother's Day
Evan made this little booklet for me in preschool for Mother's Day. On the front it says "Mother, I love you to pieces" and it was tied together with a little piece of yarn. When I picked him up on the Friday before Mother's Day, he was so excited for me to see what he made. He said "Hurry, open it Mama! I made something beautiful for you!" Inside were these 3 puzzle pieces with things he told his teacher to write about me, and in the middle is a portrait of me (with a green face and blue hair!) So sweet!!
On Mother's Day, Tom made a special breakfast and gave me 3 different colors of tulips to represent my 3 favorite fellas. (Our boy cat Crosby got left out.) :) Then Evan started singing a song he was making up as he went along. It was sort of to the tune of 'Happy Birthday' and went something like "Happy Beautiful Mother's Day, Happy Beautiful Mother's Day, I love you too much, Beautiful Mama on Mother's Day."
Later that morning we headed up to the Catoctin Zoo and Wildlife Preserve near Frederick, MD. Evan and his Dad got to go on a cool safari ride around the zoo grounds but Dylan and I had to stay behind because Dylan wasn't allowed on the rough ride. Evan apparently became instant buddies with the tour guide on the truck and the guy ended up giving Evan 50 cents when they left the truck at the end. Evan really enjoyed checking out the animals and he especially liked the little animal statues that were scattered around the zoo. We had a great day!

Mama, it's called a "SPACE SHUTTLE!"
Nana!
My Mom came to see us last week and Evan really enjoyed her visit. He wanted her to sleep in his room (which she did not) and wanted her to read to him (which she did, a lot!) She and I kept the boys out of school for two days so we could go do some fun things. On the first day, we went to Reston Zoo, Chick-Fil-A and Target, and on the second day we went to Sports Bounce and the mall. Evan had a really good time and was very sad to see his Nana leave last Saturday. He is already asking about when she is coming back, which will be in late June, and she's bringing "Pappy" with her then!
