Fun at the Fair
Chaos in the Closet
Evan's favorite place to play in the house is in his closet...but by "play" I mean that he just pulls down everything within his reach and makes a big pile of rubble all around him. He usually has to cry for help in order to get out of there once he's gotten everything in its proper state of disorder.

Where's Evan?
"What's Your Name?"
After months of trying to get Evan to say his name to no avail, he finally started saying it out of the blue last week. Now he says it all the time. He's also started to count to 10 and usually shouts "TEN!" at the end with great enthusiasm. However, he didn't cooperate at all while I had the video camera rolling (of course).

Firetruck!
In preparation for the arrival of Evan's baby brother, we went to the local fire station today and had the baby car seat/bases installed in our cars. I dressed Evan in his Firetruck t-shirt, and one of the firemen was very impressed with it. He let Evan get inside one of the big trucks and play with the steering wheel and gear. He loved it, and when we left, he cried and kept saying "Firetruck! Firetruck!"

The Laundry Bandit Strikes Again!
Man!
Evan's Uncle Craig gave him this cool Spider Man figure, who is almost as tall as Evan is! Evan calls him "Man" and hauled him all around the house all afternoon. He even wanted Man to eat lunch with him. He was wearing his Marvel Comics t-shirt yesterday and pointed to the Spider Man on his shirt, and then to his action figure, and said "Two Man!"

Excuse Me!
Sometimes the most random things will totally crack Evan up. Yesterday, it was me saying "Excuse me." I love his laugh here, as well as his own unique pronunciation of the word "excuse." So cute!

Fruit Basket
I bought Evan this set of fake fruit last Saturday and he's been playing with them everyday since. He's also learned some new words in the process. He can name the apple ("abble,") the banana ("manna"), the orange ("ownge") and the peach ("putch") and can tell you that the pear is green ("geen") and the plum is "purple" ("poople"). As for the strawberries, he likes to hold both of them up and tell you that there are "Two!" As for the lemon, he calls it a "football" and said "No, no Da-Da, football!" when Tom tried to tell him it was called a lemon.

Evan's Toy Collection
The other night, Evan emptied out one of his little toy baskets and then brought each of the toys to me, one by one. Each time he'd hand me one, he'd say "Here go, Mama!" I lined each of the toys up in neat rows on the floor, and when he'd finished bringing me toys, he inspected what I'd done and said "No, no Mama" and knocked them all down and then scattered them around. Apparently he prefers chaos.
