When the Space Shuttle "Discovery" recently took its final joyride en route to the Washington Dulles Airport, and ultimately to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Chantilly, VA, I happened to get a 'front row view' because my office is just a few miles away from Dulles. I stood outside with a bunch of co-workers on the front lawn of our building and waited for about 10 minutes before it showed up. It flew really low as it went past us, in preparation for landing. I shot this video with my iPhone, and I think it turned out really well! When I picked Evan up at preschool that evening, I told him how I'd seen a space ship riding on top of an airplane and it was really cool, and he said "Mama, it's called a 'SPACE SHUTTLE,' and it's not real. It was on the big TV!" (Apparently, his class watched it in the computer room at the school, and anything shown on TV is fiction.) I showed him my video and said "Wasn't that cool?" and he said "YEAH!" and I said "And now you know that it was real, right?" And he said "No, it wasn't. It was on TV." Sigh...
