Bye Bye Baby Basket

On Saturday, we went to the local fire station to have our car seat baskets with bases switched out for 'big boy car seats' because Evan has reached the maximum length threshold for the Snug Ride basket (29 inches) and has almost reached the weight threshold (22 lbs.) Now when I move him out of the car, I can't just lift the basket with him in it (usually asleep) and plop the whole thing in his stroller or carry the basket into a restaurant or store, the house, etc. I actually have to lift HIM out of the car and hold him with one arm while I gather the diaper bag, my purse and my keys and then lock the car with the other arm/hand. And heaven forbid that it ever RAIN while all of this holding and gathering is taking place because then I'll have to juggle in an umbrella, too! I am really mourning the loss of the baby basket (and it's only been two days!)

  1. We got Zoe a big girl seat a while ago and it is a lot to juggle at first! I keep the diaper bag on the floor under the seat and I put that on across my body first (hands free), then get her out of the seat, then grab my pocketbook. Congrats Evan on the big boy seat!! What kind did you get and do you like it so far?
