Pumpkinville!

Last Saturday we ventured out on our first outing as a Family of Four. We went to Pumpkinville, a Fall Festival held at a local animal park and farmer's market. Evan loved seeing all of the pumpkins, petting the animals and going on a hayride with his dad. His favorite activities, though, were riding a pony and going down the big slide. Dylan just hung out in his stroller and slept through everything except bottle time.

Hail to the Redskins!

Evan apparently inherited the Redskins Fan gene from his dad. He has a fascination with his dad's tennis shoes and jersey and makes sure to say "Boo Cowboys" every time he sees the Dallas Cowboy's star logo. He sometimes gets confused by other stars and has been known to say "Boo" to the American Flag and to the department store Macy's (they have a big red star for their logo.) Tom recently taught him how to sing the "Hail to the Redskins" song and he sings it every day.

The Amazing Spiderman

When he's not busy fighting off the bad guys, Spider Man is just another guy who hangs around the house, drinks milk from a Sippy Cup and eats Pop Tarts!

More September Pix

September

The whole month of September seemed to whoosh by in a blur as we adapted from being a family of 3 to a family of 4. My parents stayed in town for almost the whole month to assist us with the transition, and they were a HUGE help!! Evan really enjoyed playing with his grandparents and he still says "Where Nana?" or "Where Pappy?" several times a week. Evan seems to like being a big brother but he also wants to claim some of the baby's things for himself. He's been caught taking a big swig of formula from a baby bottle, and he wants to hold the baby's blankets and suck on the baby's pacifiers. Hopefully this is just another passing phase!

Evan's Baby Brother

We welcomed Dylan Lee into the world and into our family on September 5th. His delivery was fast and furious (the best kind, really!) and he weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19 and 3/4 inches long. I had a really great labor nurse at the hospital who bent the rules and allowed Evan to come into the delivery room mere minutes after Dylan's arrival. Evan's first words upon seeing his brother were "I want it, I want it!" Then he said "Touch?" and we let him touch the top of Dylan's head. He's been adjusting really well to being a big brother, and seems to really like the baby so far. Hopefully this will continue!
